Handbag canvas

A manageable format for a handbag, somewhat smaller than our market bag made of the same material but still roomy and robust. The 4 mm thick vegetable tanned harness leather carrying straps are an extremely durable partner for the rugged material of the bag. Thanks to the adjustable length the bag can be carried by hand or strapped to the shoulder. The outside corners of the bottom of the bag – which are particularly subject to wear – are reinforced with cow leather suede patches. An inside pocket with a zip holds the wallet, keys and other small items.

Handy bags of format, designed for shopping and accordingly spacious and robust. They are made of a hard-wearing, water-repellent canvas, which Christoph Hack developed together with a weaver and is therefore processed exclusively by Hack Lederware. The sailcloth is woven from half-linen in a very dense, two-thread Panama weave, which makes the fabric almost indestructible. The carrying straps, made of 4 mm thick vegetable tanned harness leather, are an extremely load-bearing and a durable counterpart to the resilient fabric. Thanks to the adjustable length, the bags can be carried in the hand, but also over the shoulder and customized. At the corners of the bottom of the bag - that is, the particularly stressed areas - the bags were reinforced with trimmings of cow suede. Even the small bag can hold considerable (shopping) quantities, while the functional rectangular shape of the large market bag can also hold vegetables and baguettes. And even for the weekly shopping at the market it offers enough storage space. The large model is also suitable as a beach or sports bag, and some Manufactum employees stubbornly claim after carrying tests that it is also a suitable large-volume handbag and almost too good for the mundane stowage of purchases. If necessary, separately available canvas organizers provide more order inside.

Behind Hack Lederware is Christoph Hack, founder and fine bag maker with his own studio in Cologne. As the company name suggests, Hack is primarily concerned with different leathers, which he processes into hard-wearing, functional clothing and sleek accessories. In addition, however, he also devotes himself to materials with similar character, such as canvas. Hack's jackets and bags are made up at the company's headquarters in Cologne and in a Polish partner factory.
