Hack fanny pack cowhide

After the fanny pack enjoyed great popularity in the 1980s and early 90s and was ubiquitous, especially on the hips of many tourists, it disappeared for a long time into obscurity. This was certainly also due to the fact that it was not every hip to the ornament, which was often due to material and shape rather than its wearer. From Hack from Cologne comes this practical and also more than handsome fanny pack made of incredibly supple cowhide. The surface is waxed, which not only gives it the special look, but also protects it (in moderation) from environmental influences such as sun and wind. The beautiful, leather-typical patina can still develop over time and in use.

Unlike its predecessors from the last millennium, it is very slim worked, with a downward tapering main compartment, so that it does not apply and can be worn so inconspicuous under the jacket. Thanks to 7 cm depth at the top of the lid still fits quite a bit. Another well-secured, because close to the body zipper compartment is located on its back (this place unauthorized persons must first reach unnoticed). Particularly practical: The fanny pack can also be worn across the torso or simply over the shoulder, to a certain extent without its name or location - the carrying strap is long enough for this purpose and can be quickly adjusted thanks to the buckle. On the back, the fanny pack is reinforced with the same sturdy leather as the carrying strap, so whether it is worn on the hip or over the shoulder, it will stay in shape.

The man behind Hack Lederware is Christoph Hack, founder and fine bag-maker, who runs his own studio in Cologne. For over 30 years, he has been making hard-wearing, functional garments and simple accessories out of natural leathers from Germany, Italy and Scandinavia and robust canvas. The vegetable-tanned, aniline-dyed leather is processed without an additional finish, irregularities are not concealed by dyes, leaving the surface open-pored and the structure clearly visible. Production takes place at the Hack workshop in Cologne or on the premises of a partner company in Poland.

Please note that the bag is unlined, so the velour on the inside may initially give off fluff or rub off, as with other leathers. The dark colour on the outside may rub off on light coloured clothing.
