Greenbelts® Backpack

The brother of our Greenbelts® tote bag - for the back. The soft and supple, yet very strong leather is again open-edged and designed with the same clean lines that are typical of Greenbelts®. Topstitching along the edges of the strap, lid and body add additional shape and are the only ornaments, along with the attached clasp. The lid conceals the snap closure, which allows the bag to be opened and closed easily and quickly. Finally, this backpack and the bag differ only in Brauntone and in the shape of the clasps, because the interior layout is also quite similar: two large interior compartments accommodate documents up to A4 size; integrated into the flutter wall are a small slip pocket and a zippered compartment. The back of the body is provided with another zipper pocket.

The Greenbelts® label manufactures natural leather products that are produced fairly, follow the idea of conserving resources and want to give their owners pleasure for a long time. Founder Rolf Ihmels is behind the Osnabrück-based brand. He has been in the industry for a long time and has his current profession in his genes, so to speak - belts were already being made in his parents' company, which was still operating conventionally. In 2005, Ihmels set up his own brand. His commitment to manufacturing in a way that conserves resources as much as possible is already reflected in the location. The factory is not a new building, but a former joinery for solid wood furniture and obtains its electricity from renewable energy sources. Only vegetable-tanned full-grain cowhide from European tanneries that guarantee all relevant environmental standards is processed into belts and bags right next to the offices. These are solid, honest leathers that do not need to be lined or padded - you can feel, see and smell it in the finished product. And they are leathers that can return to the natural material cycle after use. Ihmels takes the approach that every piece of leather he processes was once the skin of a living being and should be respected and honored accordingly. For this reason, he makes every effort to process the leather in such a way that its value is preserved over a long period of time.

Please note that the bag is unlined, so the velour on the inside may initially give off fluff or rub off, as with other leathers. The dark colour on the outside may rub off on light coloured clothing.
