Gasoline lighter brass
General Information
It’s All About Curvy Shapes and Long Horizontal Lines.
Based on a design from 1959, which suggests Streamline Modernism. Originally, the streamlined design was about reducing the flow resistance of mobile design objects, so mainly with automobiles, airships or locomotives in mind. The design elements of the curvy shape and the long horizontal lines then became a trademark of the time and so were incorporated into architectural and product designs.
In the Beginning Was Fire. In the End the Lighter.
It took a while for human ingenuity to make available to Homo sapiens what the flint and fire were to early hominids, in the form of a lighter. The first modern lighters were made at the beginning of the 19th century, while the pocket lighter was developed at the beginning of the 20th century. Common to all of them is that they constructively combine all the basic elements required to produce fire: fuel (petrol and cotton wick or gas), sparks (flint or piezoelectric crystal) and the spark-triggering mechanism (friction wheel or whip iron). Tsubota Pearl, a metalworking company in Tokyo, has been dedicated to the needs of the stylish smoker since 1952 – and does so with high standards and high-quality results. Besides lighters, cigarette cases and ashtrays, Tsubota Pearl has also been producing articles for a number of years that fulfil their function even for non-smokers.
In the beginning the fire. In the end, the stuff
It took a while for human ingenuity to make available to Homo sapiens in the form of a lighter what flint and fire drills were to early hominids. The first modern lighters were created at the beginning of the 19th century, and the pocket lighter was developed at the beginning of the 20th century. What they all have in common is that they constructively combine all the stuff with which fire is made: Fuel (gasoline and cotton wick or gas), spark initiator (flint or piezoelectric crystal) and the spark initiating mechanism (friction wheel or striking iron). Tsubota Pearl, a metalworking company in Tokyo, has been dedicated to the needs of the ambitious smoker since 1952 - and does so with high standards and high-quality results. In addition to lighters, cigarette cases and ashtrays, Tsubota Pearl has also been producing items that fulfill their function for non-smokers for several years.
