    General Information

In the style of the house. Our garden cabinet

Whether made of less durable pressure-impregnated cheap wood, repellent cool metal or completely made of plastic - there are many garden cabinets on the market. However, not all models are as well thought-out and attractively designed as ours, which could almost pass for a garden shed as it is. Instead of prefabricated parts, its body is made from individual Douglas fir boards that are joined together with tongue and groove. Both the rear wall and the side panels are made using a frame construction. This gives the entire structure additional stability. In this case, we leave the boards untreated, as Douglas fir provides a very resin-rich wood that has sufficient weather resistance even in its natural state. Long after the garden cabinet has left the joinery, the wood exudes its very pleasant, natural scent of coniferous green and refreshing forest air. Not a luxury, but chosen with durability and longevity in mind: The pitched roof of our garden shed is made of zinc sheet (and not galvanized sheet metal) and fitted precisely. There is therefore no risk of rust even on the folded edges of the roof.

What you should know: Douglas fir wood is naturally a very knotty wood. You can see this in this beautiful piece of furniture, because we have decided not to sort out these traces of nature. Our garden cabinet is built as grown. The interior is designed with practicality in mind: Five shelves provide enough storage space for binding tape, plant pots, fertilizer, spray bottles & co. Two double hooks on the back wall hold long-handled tools and three single hooks on the inside of the door hold the garden apron or other utensils. The high-quality box lock is made of solid galvanized steel, as are the fittings.

    Note:

Knots are a natural part of a tree and therefore of wood. Untreated wood greys over time, which can lead to cracking. Resin naturally contained in wood can liquefy and escape under the influence of heat; fittings and other metal parts can tarnish. All of this corresponds to natural manifestations and/or adaptation processes and does not constitute grounds for complaint.

Our tip: Choose a sheltered outdoor location for your garden cabinet and do not expose the furniture to full weathering all the time. You can delay the typical graying process with a wood oil. Just remember to always treat the wood from the outside and inside with the same product.
