Fruit fly live trap

Fruit flies are amazing creatures, they always manage to conquer our kitchens and hold their own there in the long term. Especially in summer, when fruit and berries provide them with a richly laid table, it is almost impossible to get rid of these pests, even with tried and tested household remedies. This live trap for fruit flies offers a simple and highly effective solution. All you have to do is place one or two pieces of banana in the glass container - the older the better! -screw the trap funnel onto it and wait. The animals, attracted by the scent of the banana, can get in, but not out. In contrast to fruit vinegar water and the like, the small hymenoptera remain alive and can sometimes serve as an object of interest for curious children's eyes until you release the fruit flies into the wild as bird food.

Our fruit fly live trap doesn't just take Drosophila melanogaster into consideration. The trap container is made from recycled waste glass, so it can be used permanently. The funnel is made from an organic material consisting of 92% lignin, a component in plants that is responsible for lignification and thus ensures stability. Lignin is produced in large quantities during paper production, but cannot be used for this purpose. By adding starch, cellulose, organic additives, minerals and natural waxes and fibers, the organic material becomes even more stable and can even be put in the dishwasher. The packaging is made of grass cardboard, a mixture of grasses and recycled paper. The fruit fly trap is produced entirely in Germany from local raw materials, which ensures short production and transportation routes.
