It combines the functions of a desk file with those of an archive box - making the fan file a filing system that can also be used on the move, serving its purpose both on the shelf and when traveling. With its 20 compartments, which can be fanned out to form a quarter circle, it offers enough divided space to salvage all relevant documents of a small family; in this respect, it is also of (hopefully only hypothetical) use as a so-called emergency folder.
