Children's relationship to construction sites can be described in one word: Fascination. In the spirit of the carpenter's craft, metal parts such as nails or screws can thus be dispensed with entirely. The protective surface treatment is a transparent water-based varnish (water-based lacquer), so that the naturally grown structure of the wood remains visible.
