Dudu-Osun® Black Soap

The basis of the traditional Dudu-Osun®, the black soap, is shea butter, also known as shea butter, which is used in large parts of West Africa for washing skin and hair. The soap owes its dark coloration to the addition of black palm oil and the ash of palm kernels as well as cocoa fruit. The shea butter and aloe vera extract provide the nourishing and refatting properties. Lemon juice, limenextract and African sandalwood (Camwood) give the black soap a clear, grounding scent.
The black soap cleanses the skin of the face and body mildly and deep into the pores, combining the properties of an exfoliant, a washing lotion and a cream. It can also be used as a shaving soap or even as a face mask: To do this, simply apply the soft soap foam in a thin layer on the face, let it dry and then rinse the face.

The shea nut tree growing in the West African savannah has significant economic benefits in Africa. However, attempts to cultivate it have so far failed; moreover, it does not reach full yield until it is about 50 years old. Even when cleared for new fields, it is therefore usually spared and cultivated in so-called cultivated tree parks - the isolated trees with the crops grown underneath resemble a park landscape. Once a year, the shea nut tree produces fruits from whose fat-rich kernels, the so-called shea nuts, shea butter is extracted. Shea butter has excellent caring properties, it is rich in vitamin E and provitamin A as well as unsaturated fatty acids. Processed as a cream, shea butter provides the skin with moisture and keeps it smooth and supple.
