Great is this work base. With its weight and the stop bar in front, the large-sized dough board remains firmly and securely on the plate of the kitchen table when a pasta dough is to be kneaded and rolled out as thin as possible - with one as with the other, after all, powerful manual work is necessary, the pressure on the dough mass always comes from the ball of the hand.
Without surface treatment.
For good reason, the wood remains untreated here. The slightly rough surface left quite practically facilitates the work with the smooth pasta dough, which does not slip on it. Flour, with which you may have dusted the worktop, is not immediately absorbed by the dough; it remains on the board, as a "separating agent", so to speak. And: The roughened wooden surface gives the dough its slightly rough texture, which later ensures that the fresh pasta can absorb the accompanying sauce particularly well. A pleasure!
We source the dough board from a woodworking company in the Veneto, which has been producing kitchen utensils for 40 years.

The weight and stop-bar at the front of this large format dough board ensure it stays securely in place on the surface of the kitchen worktop,
even when vigorously kneading and shaping a bread dough. At the timber processing business in Veneto, Italy which has been manufacturing kitchen utensils for 40 years, and where this board was also made, the surfaces are intentionally left slightly rough for a very practical purpose - it makes it much easier to work with pastries and doughs. Even heavy doughs will not slip around on this board.
