Double ball beech
General Information
The rolling pin double ball. For targeted rolling
The Rollholz double ball can be used to massage tense parts of the body in a targeted manner, particularly the fascia and muscle tissue of the neck, back, arms and legs as well as the soles of the feet, which are frequently stressed in everyday life. The Rollholz double ball can also be used to help mobilize the torso and back. A very detailed exercise manual ("Faszientraining mit Rollholz") with many explanations and illustrations can be downloaded as an e-book from the Rollholz website after purchase.
Fascia training with Rollholz
These wooden fascia rollers and balls are made by Freiburg-based manufacturer Rollholz. Our initial concerns that they might be too hard precisely because of their material have already been dispelled, no, rolled away, by the first rolling test. On the contrary, the smooth, haptically extremely pleasant wooden surface feels velvety-warm on contact with the skin. You always determine the intensity of the pressure yourself; depending on the exercise, each Rollholz fascia roller is therefore very versatile. The wood for the fascia rollers and the double ball comes from the Black Forest, where it is also turned and neatly finished at the company headquarters in Freiburg and then simply oiled. This makes the Rollholz fascia rollers an excellent alternative to plastic rollers, not only in terms of feel and aesthetics, but also ecologically. Only the weight of the large Rollholz fascia roller is slightly higher at two and a half kilograms. However, as fascia training involves working on the fascia roller using your body weight, the large, heavier model is just as easy to handle as the lighter ones.
Invisible Network. Fasciae
Fasciae run through our entire body like connective tissue sheaths and surfaces. They enclose all muscles and organs and ensure that they can be moved against each other and that everything stays "in shape". The fasciae form a system of their own which, as part of the support and movement apparatus, holds our body together, is able to transmit muscle power and can thus pass on information to the brain about movements, but also about pain. Due to overload, injury or misalignment and lack of movement, the fasciae can stick together and harden or twist, which can lead to muscle tension, sometimes far from its origin. This can be prevented by training the fascia.
Stay supple. With fascia training
In everyday life, a lot of movement and intensive stretching are already part of fascia training, which you can start in the morning with extensive stretching and stretching. For targeted fascia training, it is best to use fascia rollers - one or the other may already know them from physiotherapy practice or yoga classes. They allow you to directly "work" the fascia and tissues in different parts of the body so they can relax and remain elastic. The rollers come in different sizes and shapes, so you can effectively "roll and roll through" almost any area of the body with the appropriate fascia roller.
