"In my bathtub I'm a captain!" Many a child and adult can hear Peter Igelhoff's whimsical song from the depths of their bubble bath soul - and now the doll family can also put on their captain's hat and set off for new shores in the tub.
Milled from the solid wood of the local alder and carefully honed, a solid bathtub, a sink complete with faucet and, last but not least, a "quiet little toilet" provide the basic furnishings for the future wellness oasis. Still a few soap bubbles distributed in the dollhouse, and already the offspring can realistically replay the most beautiful bathroom routines - or even invent his very own bubble bath story. In a small workshop in North Rhine-Westphalia, the carpenters and employees make this dollhouse furniture with the same care that they would give to their own furniture. Natural materials are processed here, local woods such as alder or beech for the furniture pieces themselves as well as cotton and virgin wool for bedding and covers. The production follows the idea of an organic design, whose rounded forms arise from the material. The craftsmanship prudently does without metal nails and screws: Where the furniture is not worked out of one piece, the individual parts are durably glued together. Carefully milled, chamfered and finely sanded, the surfaces are treated exclusively with natural oils, waxes and colored glazes. Thus, the natural grain of the wood remains visible and its tactile warmth is preserved.

With such furniture then also the move into the dollhouse runs smoothly. Because whether tenants or homeowners, we all know the real challenge: your own four walls along with a rainproof roof over your head are just the beginning. No one wants to sleep on the floor, stand at the planned kitchen counter in front of bare electrical cables hanging sadly out of the wall, or have to do a cat wash in the bathroom over the makeshift wash bowl. The doll child is no different from you and your offspring. In the child's vivid fantasy world, even dolls sleep better in a bed, cook delicacies in an equipped kitchen and live more carefree in a furnished living room. Who wants to live, needs furniture!
