    General Information

    Included in the package are:

Dahlia 'Bishop of Llandaff'Peony-flowered dahlia. This variety from 1928 is one of the most beautiful dahlias with its almost black foliage and red, unfilled, 5-10 cm flowers. It grows to a height of around 1 m.

Dahlia 'Waltzing Mathilda'This fairly new Dutch cultivar from the class of peony dahlias has a very unusual coloration and was therefore rightly awarded the RHS "Award of Garden Merit". The yellow-salmon coloration of the flowers becomes stronger and stronger over time until the flowers glow in an intense salmon orange - a formidable contrast to the brown-red foliage. Height approx. 80 cm.

Dahlia 'Bishop of Dover' Peony-flowered dahlia with beautiful single, 5 to 10 cm flowers in ivory white with a golden yellow center. Sometimes the petals are striped with pale purple. The dark, brown-purple foliage provides a beautiful contrast. Grows to a height of 1.2 m.

Dahlia 'Bishop of York' Is also a peony-flowered dahlia. Its golden yellow to light orange, partially semi-double flowers form an exquisite contrast to the very dark, almost black foliage of this variety, which grows to a height of around 100 cm.

Unfilled dahlias are not only a feast for the eyes in the late summer and autumn garden, but also an excellent source of pollen for bees, wild bees, bumblebees and butterflies. We now offer our unfilled dahlias in sets of four.

For planting in shrub and flower beds. Four tubers, one each of the well-known varieties 'Bishop of Llandaff', 'Waltzing Mathilda', 'Bishop of Dover' and 'Bishop of York'.

The planting season for dahlias is spring. We therefore ship once a year, from around mid-March to the end of May. Please note that dahlias are sensitive to frost and should not be planted before the end of April, depending on the weather. In areas with an increased risk of late frost, it is advisable to wait until after the Ice Saints in mid-May before planting.
