Cotton terry shower towel

These Framsohn towels come from the Waldviertel region in Austria. Since 1908, every step in their manufacture has been carried out under one roof – to produce a quality unparalleled in terry fabrics. Long-staple cotton (organic) is rotated very softly, creating a more voluminous yarn. A special weaving technique gives the towels superior volume and allows them to absorb a lot of moisture. Each towel is sewn crosswise using a backstitch to give it additional stability.

From the Waldviertel come these towels from Framsohn. Since 1908, all work steps have been under one roof there - to be able to produce a quality that is unparalleled in terry goods. Long staple cotton from controlled organic cultivation (kbA) is twisted so softly that the yarn achieves a higher volume. A special weaving technique gives the towels superior volume, they absorb a lot of moisture. Each is sewn crosswise by hand with lockstitch and gets additional shape stability.

Framsohn, the name stands for Franz Amstetter & Söhne, in the Waldviertel region of Lower Austria, is the fourth generation of the family to manufacture high-quality home textiles and terry towelling. The family business has always attached great importance to its connection with nature and the local people. This attitude is reflected in several factors. For example, Framsohn weaves the terry towelling from organic-certified cotton. All production still takes place at the company's original headquarters. This reduces transportation routes, allows continuous quality control from the thread to the finished product and enables Framsohn to directly and immediately influence ecological parameters. To document this, Framsohn has been certified in accordance with the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). This sets high standards for the production of textiles made from organically produced natural fibers - across the entire production chain: from the extraction of textile fibers, through their processing and distribution, to ethical and social criteria. Compliance with the standard is reviewed annually and the GOTS certification is re-awarded.
