Container Ecosmol

With a careful use of natural resources, MAGAZIN wants to contribute to reducing the amount of waste that burdens our planet. Finding ways out of the throwaway culture is the focus of the product selection, which among other things features durability and environmentally friendly, waste-reduced manufacturing. ECOSMOL is made from environmentally friendly Finnish birch plywood. The material is produced within an environmentally conscious, socially responsible and economically viable forestry system. The manufacturing process of the products starts at the factory in Hirvensalmi, where the wood material is processed into veneer that is used for plywood production. The veneers are made of 100 percent birch wood from Hirvensalmi and are then sent to the factory in Lahti, where they are glued and pressed into shape. The products are coated and lacquered at the same factory where the moldings are made. The distance between Lahti and Hirvensalmi is about 120 km, which means that transport distances are relatively short. The CO₂ footprint thus remains small.
