Comforter cover cotton hemp
General Information
We often have clear ideas about how good things can - and should - be. The Portuguese textile manufacturer Sampedro therefore makes bed linen entirely according to our wishes and specifications.
Functional combination, made visible
The combination of cotton (69%) and hemp (26%) with a small proportion of linen (5%) not only gives this bed linen a slightly pithy feel, but above all ensures a pleasant sleeping climate. With their moisture and temperature-regulating properties, the materials form a perfect team: the skin-friendly, soft cotton also makes the fabric supple and soft to the touch. The smooth hemp fibers (like linen) absorb a lot of moisture, but are also able to wick it away again quickly. And, unlike linen, hemp can also keep you warm. This means that cotton-hemp bed linen supports a balanced sleeping climate in both summer and winter.
However, the visible contrast is particularly exciting, as the individual materials can be seen in the different stripes: The light-colored stripes are woven from pure cotton, while natural linen is used in the weft for the natural-colored stripes. A stronger, red linen weft thread contrasts the stripes, creating a subtle yet lively stripe pattern that blends easily into any bedroom. All comforter covers are finished with wooden buttons.
Sampedro. Bed linen from Portugal
Sampedro is one of the most prestigious textile manufacturers in Portugal. What started in 1921 with a small linen weaving mill producing sheets and towels, has now become an international player in the home textile sector. As one of the first companies in Portugal, Sampedro also began to produce checked, striped and printed fabrics - a novelty (traditionally, people in Portugal tend to use white linen), which brought Sampedro some fame and also economic success. Today, the product range includes all textiles for hotel and private use, with bed linen still being one of the core competencies. Production takes place entirely at the company's headquarters near Guimarães in northern Portugal, a traditional European textile region. From the initial design to weaving, bleaching, dyeing and printing to finishing and making up, everything takes place there under one roof. Traditional weaving craft and the most modern textile technology intertwine in the processing coordinated and ultimately bring forth textiles of outstanding quality.
