General Information
Some things speak for this coat rack: It is made entirely of solid wood and thus stable, its eight triple hooks of polished brass take quite a bit of clothing and it is stable and yet in the twinkling of an eye to set up in another place. The coat rack is made by the Rabenau chair makers, who used it to furnish the "Alte Nikolaischule" in Leipzig in 1910 and again in 1994. For private use, it is only available from us.
Rabenau. The chairmaking town.
The chairmaking tradition of Rabenau is almost 400 years old. The many special skills of Rabenau's chairmakers that have grown over that time have survived industrialization, and they have survived the Volkseigentum and the Federal Vocational Training Ordinance unscathed. What the Rabenau chairmakers can do, they show especially in the faithful reproduction of historical chair models.
The "Nikolai furniture".
In 1910, the Rabenauer supplied the following seating furniture and tables to equip the four hundred year old "Old Nikolai School" at the Nikolaikirchhof in Leipzig. When the building was renovated in 1994 and reopened as a cultural center, the chairs, stools, tables and wardrobes of 1910 were built a second time in Rabenau.

Solid stained und clear varnished beechwood. With eight triple pronged hooks made of polished cast brass. Height 180 cm, width 50 cm, depth 50 cm. Weight 13 kg.
In 1910 the Rabenau firm outfitted the four-hundred-year old »Old Nikolai School« in the Nikolai church yard in Leipzig. When the renovated building was reopened as a culture center in 1994 the chairs, stools, tables and wardrobes from 1910 were manufactured again in Rabenau.
