In the Königsmünster Abbey in Meschede, the monks wear a uniform work coat at work. Very interesting even for non-monks, we thought. Since the monastery tailor shop is too small, we had to have the smock made outside the monastery. This is now done in a small manufactory in Oer-Erkenschwick, close to our Waltrop headquarters. The smock is made in a very simple and robust way, it is put on like a sweater and reaches, depending on the body size, up to the hips. It has no buttons that could protrude or tear off, or that could get caught at work.
The cotton fabric in a tight twill weave is woven in warp-twist quality in Germany especially for this garment. It protects the torso from wind, injuries and dirt, but does not constrict and keeps its shape at all times. The sleeves are wide cut and thus airy, if necessary they can be shortened or even left out plenty. Two large-volume patch pockets with a 17 cm opening conveniently hold work tools or other items. Due to the high-closed pocket shape, these are largely safe from falling out. In the house and garden, in the workshop and in the open field, this smock performs faithfully for a long time and makes a good figure in its quiet, simple form.

Available in sizes S (small women's size), M (approx. men's size 52), L (approx. men's size 54/56) and XL (approx. men's size 60). Since it only depends on the approximate fit, you should take into account how much clothing you usually want to wear under the gown.
