Children's measuring stick cork

When will I be tall? Am I already tall? How tall am I? These are questions that children ask again and again, and family and friends are just as interested in a child's height: My goodness, you've grown so much! While a child's growth means that they are visibly approaching adulthood, it signals to adults the stage or spurt of development - and often enough it happens far too quickly for them. Weren't you just sooo little a moment ago?

In order to create a permanent reminder of decisive growth steps without having to maltreat door frames or walls, an Austrian manufacturer produces this measuring stick made of so-called cork leather. Pure cork - obtained from Portuguese cork oaks - is laminated onto a cotton backing for the upper side, while the underside is glued with a cork-rubber granulate. This processing method gives the cork, which can be written on the top side (preferably with a textile marker), a particularly warm, supple feel with a leather-like firmness. In addition, the reinforcement on the underside supports the dimensional stability and increases the typical robustness of the cork. The measuring stick is even firmer, more elastic and, at around four millimetres thick, so thick that it can also be used as a pin board using tacks and the like - once a certain childlike (mental) size and all-round composure with regard to (physical) size has been achieved. For example, for photos that document further development not with date markings but with full-body views.

Until then, however, a few years of growth are welcome, as the scaling extends up to a height of 1.40 meters. As individual as the child's development will be, the cork measuring stick can also be personalized: In addition to the name, the profile in the head includes the initial situation in the form of the birth data. And from elephants to horses and lions to geese, the animal illustrations applied using UV digital printing give an idea of the variety of sizes in our world - all grown naturally, just like the cork. And soon your child will be big too ...
