    General Information

You have to make everything more yellow

When you think of Berlin, you usually have a yellow splash of color in mind. More precisely: one in RAL 1023 traffic yellow. This has been the color of the capital's buses, trains and subways since 1994. Ever since typographer and graphic designer Erik Spiekermann took on the corporate design of Berlin's public transport company and proposed and standardized this color in addition to fonts and signs. With success. After the first train of line 50 with vehicle number 5143 left the Niederschönhausen depot in the new color on January 31, 1994, all other BVG vehicles were gradually ordered in traffic yellow. Today, thousands of Berlin buses, streetcars and subway trains are on the move in the uniform design. They are a landmark and part of the city's visual identity, unmistakable and unmistakable. For the BVG, this is a key factor in its image. The message: wherever a yellow vehicle stops, you can get on board. And the Berliners? They embraced the new color wholeheartedly. Sun yellow - that's what they affectionately called it. The then new livery is also a success story of reunification: It brought the transport companies from East and West together. In keeping with the 30th anniversary of the introduction of the color at BVG, our Truhe CMB is now available in traffic yellow. Congratulations from the bottom of our hearts! The high-quality sticker supplied, with the lettering CMB-5143 in the corporate font specially designed by Spiekermann for BVG, is a tribute to the very first BVG yellow car and can be placed on the chest if desired.

Can be used as a chest and bench - CMB is a contemporary interpretation of one of the oldest types of furniture. Chests of various kinds have been used as a means of storage and transportation for ages. CMB is a worthy representative of this type of product. It fulfills a variety of tasks in the home, office and living area. In the bedroom, for example, it provides storage space for bed linen, blankets and winter clothing in summer. In the hallway, it can be used to store a pile of newspapers, rainwear and bicycle helmets, as well as drinks crates (due to the different formats of drinks crates, the internal dimensions of the CMB must be taken into account). Thanks to the appropriate height, it also fulfills its role as a seat for two people - or for three little ones - at the kitchen table or in the hallway. CMB is easy to transport, as the fixed castors attached to one end and the handles on the sides make it easy to maneuver even when loaded. The contents are easily accessible via the two linoleum-covered and completely removable wooden lids. We like the industrial charm of this serviceable piece of furniture. Load weight: 220 kg.
