Ever since typographer and graphic designer Erik Spiekermann took on the corporate design of Berlin's public transport company and proposed and standardized this color in addition to fonts and signs. After the first train of line 50 with vehicle number 5143 left the Niederschönhausen depot in the new color on January 31, 1994, all other BVG vehicles were gradually ordered in traffic yellow. Today, thousands of Berlin buses, streetcars and subway trains are on the move in the uniform design. They are a landmark and part of the city's visual identity, unmistakable and unmistakable.
