Cat cave wool felt

Cats usually look for a place within the human dwelling where they can find shelter and comfort. The owner often offers them discarded cardboard boxes and blankets for this purpose, but it is more pleasant for them if it also looks good. This cat cave made of soft, hand-felted virgin wool is simple and unobtrusive, making it a suitable alternative for more than just cats. It blends in almost anywhere in the home and can sometimes be mistaken for a cushion. The cat cave also functions as such when the cat lies on it rather than in it, giving it the choice between retreat or audience.

The new wool used comes from New Zealand sheep and is hand-felted into caves by the Lithuanian manufacturer. The moisture and climate-regulating properties of new wool make it a pleasant material for both humans and animals. At the same time, new wool is easy to care for because the scaly surface of the wool fibers and the natural wool fat content (lanolin) mean that it hardly absorbs dirt and is self-cleaning. Regular vacuuming or beating out and airing is usually sufficient; if necessary, the cat cave can be cleaned by hand washing at up to 30 °C.

Our tip: If you have the impression that your cat is a little too big for the cave entrance, you can widen the opening by cutting the wool felt to size with strong scissors.
