Breton almond pastry
General Information
Breton Biscuits. A Sweet Almond Treat.
The Breton almond biscuits are baked with an amount of up to 12% almond powder. With the Trappist nuns of Campénéache, a rich aroma is guaranteed. The biscuits are moist and fluffy - and certainly not too sweet. Suitable for every occasion.
Breton Myths.
At the entrance of the Forest of Brocéliande (Brécilien in Breton), you can start a journey to fantastic places. The tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table played out in the forest, and with a little bit of luck, you can visit the mysterious burial place of his tutor, Merlin, the magician. On the outskirts of this enchanting landscape, you find the Trappist monastery of Campénéac (Kempenieg in Breton), where the stuff of legends is made: in the form of Breton cakes and pastries and sweet treats.
A place that once inspired romance and bravery is now the cloister bakery. Nuns in ordinary, everyday clothes are working hard in the unromantic atmosphere of an austere workspace. The workplace is modern and complies with regulations, technical equipment and manual work are both playing their part in the production process. These are typical aspects of cloister work today.
