This small board can serve for chopping; however, it is intended primarily for the classic German way to hand cheese sandwiches or bread rolls with jam for breakfast (or lunch or dinner) not on a silver plate but a wooden board. The cherry wood boards are handmade in Solingen.
Rare: from the full wood
The cutting boards offered here are cut from the full wood of the cherry tree and are not glued. The carefully selected solid material meets all quality criteria. After drying, the wood is first steamed to increase its stability and to remove the natural tannins from it - a process that incidentally brings out the warm, dark red hue and fine grain even more. The wood is then freely shaped before being sanded smooth to the touch and finally treated with oil. This makes these cutting boards extremely dimensionally stable and resistant to warping.
