Bolich illuminator

From the range of "spotlights and illuminators" maintained by Bolich for decades, comes this household-suitable specimen for floor and wall mounting. With its reflector, an E-27 socket for 100 W bulbs and the IP 20 protection class, which is not approved for outdoor use, it certainly does not offer the performance that one expects from a spotlight nowadays (especially an outdoor spotlight, which this device once was in times not yet standardized). However, it is a veritable device "for illuminating extended areas for smaller distances" - this is how Bolich describes the purpose of the device that has been offered in exactly this way since the 1950s. The rotating and swiveling luminaire becomes interesting on the one hand through its rededication as a wall luminaire. In addition, we are also attracted by the idea that this very lighting device could one day serve as a demonstration device - as it were as a showcase for the history of technology - for the various forms of the then museum filament lamps.

Interior designers and decorators are increasingly using them. And they are at home on the film set: lamps by Bolich from Odenheim in Baden. This is mainly due to the clear language of form, which points to their original origin. They are mainly ceiling and exterior lights, real archetypes, usually found in factory buildings from the turn of the 19th to the 20th century.
