Bird nesting box oak wood

Bird nesting box oak wood
- Material lush oiled oak wood
- Ingeniously simple construction of frame and inner part
- Cleanly screwed (not stapled)
General Information
Rather ingenious.
To begin with, the result of the manufacturing process is rather opulent: this nesting box is made of solid, oiled oak in a generous thickness. To add even more durability to the box, the manufacturer in Poland is joining the parts with solidly bolted connections instead of applying the usual staples. Secondly, the design of the nesting box consists of two sections: an inner section that is fastened to the wall and a frame which is slid over the inner section and secured with a small hook. If the inside of the nesting box needs cleaning the frame is simply slid off, leaving behind the inner section on the wall.
A reminder:
Oak is by nature a tannin-rich wood. Please be aware that if you attach the nest box to the wall of the house, during exposure to weathering the material could stain the façade.
New home. Nesting and feeding places in the garden
Natural disorder is missing almost everywhere in our tidy landscape. There are hardly any bushes and hedges left around the large agricultural areas, and in home gardens, flowering plants are immediately pruned and cut back, leaves and prunings removed. As a result, there are fewer and fewer natural habitats for beneficial insects and, incidentally, for our native songbirds.
Nesting aids and feeders are the best way to revitalize the garden and improve the ecosystem. This allows beneficial insects to settle, making the use of pesticides superfluous and at the same time allowing illuminating observations. In this way, species protection and nature experience can be combined very easily. As the animals prefer individual formats, the choice of nesting aid can be used to promote specific species in a relatively targeted manner. Our nesting and feeding areas are made from durable and attractive materials.
Note:
Due to the high tannic acid content of oak wood, blue-black discoloration can occur on the wood surface in combination with moisture and in contact with ferrous metals. In addition, the so-called tannins can be washed out by rainwater and stain surfaces and adjacent materials.
