Berry bushes Blueberry long harvest time
General Information
The package contains:
Garden blueberry 'Duke ' After a white blossom in April and May, large, light blue, aromatic sweet fruits ripen from early July to mid-August. Regular, high yield. The loosely upright growing shrub grows up to 1.5 m tall and 1.2 m wide. The 'Duke' variety prefers a location in partial shade and well-drained, humus-rich, slightly acidic soil with a rather low nitrogen content and sufficient moisture.
Garden blueberry 'Denise Blue' Round, light blue berries with a fresh, sweet and sour aroma develop from pink flowers in April and May. Before ripening, which begins in early August and lasts around four weeks, they are a striking, highly decorative pink against the lush green foliage. This variety should be picked continuously, as the berries lose their juicy, firm bite when overripe. This variety also bears very well in rainy years. The shrub grows bushy to around 1.8 m high and 1.5 m wide. It prefers a spot in sun or partial shade, in well-drained, humus-rich, slightly acidic soil with sufficient moisture.
Garden blueberry 'Elisabeth ' After a white blossom in May, large, firm, blue berries with a refreshing, sweet and sour aroma ripen from mid-August to mid-September. The upright shrub can grow up to 2 m high and 1.4 m wide. It prefers to grow in partial shade in well-drained, humus-rich, slightly acidic soil with a low nitrogen content and sufficient moisture.
Our tip for caring for your blueberry bushes: As the garden or cultivated blueberry has shallow roots, waterlogging should be avoided but watered regularly in dry conditions. Use lime-free water so that the soil remains acidic. The shrubs are reliably hardy. To avoid over-aging and the resulting decrease in yield, old, poorly bearing shoots should be removed close to the ground in spring before the leaves emerge.
Berry fruit
Berry fruit bushes should not be missing in any garden, they are quite uncomplicated in cultivation and take up little space. Above all, they provide incredibly tasty fruits that can be processed in many ways (into jam, jelly, juice, compote or cake) and which - freshly picked from the bush and eaten - turn a walk through the summer garden into a culinary experience. Berries are also among the healthiest foods, because they contain a wealth of valuable ingredients such as vitamins, minerals or trace elements. And all the more so if they have not been transported halfway around the world, but come from your own garden.
Delivery note:
Some of our woody plants are delivered bare-rooted, others in pots or with root balls. If you are unable to plant immediately after delivery, take your plant(s) out of the box and place them in a cool, shady, humid place, preferably outside (even in frosty weather). The plants can then be stored for some time, as their roots are well protected. Plants in pots should be watered if necessary.

Blueberries are becoming increasingly popular: as a snack fruit, an ingredient for muesli, porridge or desserts, for pancakes, pastries or jams. The blue berries are not only very tasty and aromatic, they are also very healthy thanks to their many valuable ingredients. So why regularly spend a lot of money on bought fruit when you can cultivate the plants yourself? You don't even need a garden; a patio, a large balcony or a backyard will do, as blueberries are also ideal for planting in large containers - and are also very decorative with their magnificent orange-red autumn coloring. To ensure that the berry harvest never ends, we have put together a package of three varieties of American (cultivated) blueberries that follow each other in their ripening period. This ensures a harvest of around ten weeks from the beginning of July to mid-September. A small supply can also be frozen for the winter months, as a further advantage is that the yield of the (self-fertile) bushes is increased if there are several varieties in the garden.
Vigorous, three-year-old shrubs with 3-4 shoots, cultivated in a 3.5 l pot. Height on delivery 40-60 cm.
We ship from the beginning of February to the end of November. Please note that the planting season may be delayed or shorter due to weather conditions.
