Everything turns and moves: the models are varied, exciting and, above all, enormously satisfying when they can be set in motion. With the help of Matador's classic hammer-pin system, your child can playfully explore and conquer the fascinating world of construction, mechanics and dynamics.

Just like professional engineers and craftsmen, your child can construct a wide variety of functional models with a hammer, pliers and the tip of their tongue in the corner of their mouth. The Austrian manufacturer's concept has been tried and tested since 1899: in that year, engineer Johann Korbuly invented the construction game and had it patented as the "Matador" in 1901. The successful principle of the modular system has not changed since then: It is plugged, hammered and turned.

This building set contains solid cubes, disks and cuboids of various sizes made of solid, smoothly sanded beech wood from Austrian forestry. Holes are drilled into each building block with such precision that - with the help of a hammer - they fit perfectly into the pegs, which are used to securely dowel the building elements together. Other components, in turn, some of which are painted in bright red, green, yellow or blue, fulfill the function of wheel or axle, hub or connector, roller, clamping sleeve or coupling sleeve in the respective construction.

Spaceship or ring game, dragster or turntable ladder, carousel or tightrope walker: 55 imaginative building ideas can be realized using the enclosed instructions. The drawings guide you step-by-step through the construction process and are detailed and clear. Naturally, it takes a little practice to understand and implement them straight away - and both hammering them together and pulling them apart with the pliers require some skill and effort. On the way to becoming a master builder, this also challenges younger children to patiently and concentratedly bring the model to completion. And even the older child will be happy if you join them, go through the building instructions with them and construct a first, second and third functional model together - but be careful! You will be immersed in a world that fascinates children and adults alike and whose exploration will spark ideas for completely new, sometimes wildly daring, sometimes astonishingly innovative figures, machines, aircraft and vehicles ... So much the better. The universe still has so much to offer.
