Bathrobe cotton unisex

This bathrobe from the Portuguese weaving mill B. Sousa Dias e Filhos is not made of classic terry, but of a kind of velour fabric with honeycomb pattern. As with terry towelling, a third thread system is used here, which, tied into the base fabric as a loosely stretched warp, forms loops. These so-called floats are cut open so that the thread ends are perpendicular to the fabric and form a soft, velvety pile.
In this bathrobe, only the honeycombs are woven as velour, which on the one hand gives it an incredibly fluffy surface that nestles softly against the skin. On the other hand, air can circulate in the smoothly woven spaces between the honeycombs. At the same time, heat-insulating air is stored in the honeycomb pile.
B. Sousa Dias makes up the unisex bathrobe from the medium-weight (basis weight 420 g/sqm), very grippy and at the same time immensely soft velour fabric, with a tie belt made from the outer fabric with small honeycombs and two pockets worked into the sides. At the collar and armholes, the honeycombs are larger and create a nice contrast.
