The alpaca quilt consists of two individual quilts of different thicknesses, a lighter one for the summer and a somewhat more generously filled one for the transitional period. Both quilts are filled with soft, warming alpaca hair and can be tied together to create a really warm winter quilt. The air in the hollow space between them provides additional thermal insulation. Nevertheless, the quilt is very light and therefore ideal for those who prefer a very warm comforter with a low weight. Due to the soft alpaca filling and the quilting, which is adapted to the filling weight of the quilts, they fall loosely and nestle very well against the body, even when tied together, and cold bridges are avoided. The alpaca hair used comes from the Swabian Alb, where one of the largest alpaca herds in Germany lives. With a fiber fineness of between 22 and 28 microns, the hair is not too fine to get through the fabric of the liner. This itself is made from fine, dense percale, a plain weave fabric made from cotton, which is organically grown in this case. This combination makes the alpaca quilt moisture- and heat-regulating and ensures a pleasant sleeping climate. It is made up in Baden-Württemberg.

Alpaca hair is among the most valuable natural fibers of all. It is extraordinarily fine and yet very resistant, as its structure is adapted to the great climate fluctuations of the Andean mountains, the home of the alpaca. Among other things, it is hollow on the inside, giving it superior thermal insulation capabilities. Alpaca hair also contains extremely little lanolin and is therefore very well tolerated by everyone.
