Alpaca blanket doubleface

Elvang weaves this soft, lightweight blanket as a doubleface, so the two sides each show different colors. In the selection of colors we have chosen restrained, warm tones, which fit well into different styles of living and rooms, from rustic-comfortable to stylish-elegant.
The majority (74%) of the material is Peruvian alpaca hair, aufgrunddessen the weight of the blanket is very low. The percentage of virgin wool, which also comes from Peruvian animals, ensures that the fine, soft fabric is nevertheless resistant and durable and you will enjoy it for a long time. We also recommend that you have the doubleface blanket dry-cleaned, which is also gentle on the fibers.
The fabric of the alpaca blanket is very slightly structured, its edges are not bordered, but provided all around with so-called eyelash fringes, which are slightly longer on the narrow side. They show there the color of the natural colored yarn used in the warp, the fringes of the long side have the color of the two weft yarns, in one color variant gray and rosé, in the other gray and anthracite.

The Danish label Elvang stands for Scandinavian design tradition and textiles made from Peruvian alpaca hair – in the fibres’ country of origin. The idea came to Tina and Lasse Elvang, the brand’s founders, on a backpacking trip through Peru in 2002. When they came into contact with alpacas, their wonderfully soft hair and the traditional local textile craft, they found the entire package highly inspiring. They decided to venture into the collaboration of two worlds – based on ethical trade principles. A year later, they launched their first collection, and a global success story began. Mercantile integrity is still a high priority for the brand. Elvang is a “guaranteed member” of the World Fair Trade Organisation: the most elevated status conferred by the organisation.
