Urban fashion with sophistication and style. About Companions
Berlin is one of the most vibrant cities in Europe. The city is a melting pot where established designers and up-and-coming talents come together, and the fashion scene is dynamic and innovative. About Companions, a label dedicated to stylish everyday menswear, is at home in this creative environment. Founders Stephan Sunder-Plassmann and Thies Meyer have been friends since childhood. In their understanding, contemporary fashion is not just a popular buzzword, but a complex undertaking.
Casual fashion: timeless and contemporary at the same time
About Companions stands for casual classics with a comfortable fit, stylish, timeless and contemporary at the same time. Even the colors are coordinated so that the garments can be easily combined. Thies Meyer is responsible for the well-thought-out designs. He describes his approach on the label's website as follows: "It is simply a huge motivation for me when I realize that I have made my customers happy. (...) It's about men who have already had their fill of trends, who want to be well dressed every day, at work, in their free time, without having too much stress."
Considered cuts, handcrafted
Every piece from About Companions reliably accompanies its wearer through the seasons and, in the best case, even gains character in the process. It's no wonder that selected materials and craftsmanship go hand in hand with carefully considered cuts. About Companions relies on natural fibers such as wool, alpaca, linen and cotton. Synthetic fibers are only used where they serve a practical purpose. Production is carried out by experienced family businesses in Lithuania and Portugal, with whom the founders maintain close relationships. This respect for craftsmanship and people is an elementary part of the brand essence.
Counter-design to fast pace and mass production
In a fashion world that is still largely characterized by fast pace and mass production, About Companions invites you to pause and consume consciously - not to constantly buy new things, but to own things that really matter. Stephan Sunder-Plassmann puts it this way on his own website: "I want to offer honest and good products that I use every day and that I can enjoy for a long time. And I believe that many people share this attitude with me." The clothing from About Companions is therefore far more than just a fast-moving fashionable shell - it is rather the product-turned-expression of an attitude that values quality and durability, while not only hoping for a better future, but wanting to be an active part of it.
